The short answer
No. Your data. Shrink it from its app; don’t delete the folder.
What is it?
VMware Fusion keeps each virtual machine as a .vmwarevm package in ~/Virtual Machines.localized (shown as Virtual Machines in Finder). It holds the virtual disks, snapshots and settings of a complete guest system with your files. Typically 20–150 GB each.
Whole computers with your files inside. Offload to an external drive; never deleted automatically.
What happens if you delete it?
No. Deleting a VM loses its operating system, apps and files.
How to remove it properly
Remove VMs you no longer need from the Virtual Machine Library (right-click › Delete). For VMs you keep, delete old snapshots and use Fusion’s disk clean-up option in the VM’s settings, or move the shut-down package to an external drive.
Better moved to an external drive than deleted.
Before you delete it
Shut the VM down before moving it, and copy out any documents you need.
How MoreRoom helps
MoreRoom recognises this as your data and never suggests deleting it. It shows how much space it takes, so you can shrink it from its own app.
