The short answer

Yes. Rebuilt or re-downloaded automatically when needed.

What is it?

Rendered preview files Premiere Pro creates when you render the timeline, stored in an “Adobe Premiere Pro Video Previews” folder, by default next to the project file. One project’s folder can reach tens of GB.

Rendered timeline previews. Premiere renders them again when needed.

What happens if you delete it?

Premiere renders them again the next time you render the timeline; until then, effect-heavy sections may play back less smoothly. The project and your exports are not affected.

How to remove it properly

With the project open, choose Sequence › Delete Render Files. For old projects, quit Premiere Pro and move the folder to the Trash.

Quit the app that uses it, then move it to the Trash. Empty the Trash when you’re sure.

  • MoreRoom only suggests items unused for 30 days or more.

How MoreRoom helps

MoreRoom recognises this item, shows its real size and when it was last used, and labels it “Safe to remove”. In the free version you can move it to the Trash in one click, with Undo; Pro collects every safe item at once.
