The short answer

Yes. Rebuilt or re-downloaded automatically when needed.

What is it?

The Dart analysis server, used by VS Code, Android Studio and IntelliJ for Dart and Flutter code, caches analysis results in ~/.dartServer. It grows with the number of projects and SDK versions you work with. Typically hundreds of MB to a few GB.

What happens if you delete it?

The analysis server rebuilds its cache when you next open a Dart or Flutter project; code completion and errors may take a little longer to appear at first.

How to remove it properly

Quit your editors, then move the folder to the Trash in Finder (Go › Go to Folder… ~/.dartServer).

Quit the app that uses it, then move it to the Trash. Empty the Trash when you’re sure.

How MoreRoom helps

MoreRoom recognises this item, shows its real size and when it was last used, and labels it “Safe to remove”. In the free version you can move it to the Trash in one click, with Undo; Pro collects every safe item at once.
