## What is it?

Spotify’s PersistentCache: songs it has streamed and cached, plus music downloaded for offline listening. It often grows to several GB, more with large offline downloads.

## What happens if you delete it?

Spotify streams or caches songs again when needed. Offline downloads must be downloaded again before you can listen without a connection.

## How to remove it properly

In Spotify, open Settings › Storage and click Clear cache; the same section can remove all downloads as well. Or quit Spotify and move `~/Library/Application Support/Spotify/PersistentCache` to the Trash.

## Before you delete it

Clear downloads only when you are online and do not need offline playback soon.
