## What is it?

When you install the `electron` npm package or build an app with tools such as electron-builder or Electron Forge, the Electron runtime zips are downloaded into `~/Library/Caches/electron`. Each Electron version and architecture adds another archive of roughly 100 MB, and nothing removes old ones automatically.

## What happens if you delete it?

The archives are downloaded again the next time a project installs or packages an Electron version that is no longer cached. Installed apps and your projects are not affected.

## How to remove it properly

Move the folder to the Trash in Finder (Go › Go to Folder… `~/Library/Caches/electron`).
