## What is it?

Cursor keeps per-project state in `~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/User/workspaceStorage`, in hashed folders: open tabs, extension data and AI chat and composer history for that project. Only folders for projects not opened in 90 days are considered here.

## What happens if you delete it?

No. Reopening the project starts with a clean state, and its chat history is gone. Your code is not affected.

## How to remove it properly

Quit Cursor, then move the old folders to the Trash in Finder (Go › Go to Folder… `~/Library/Application Support/Cursor/User/workspaceStorage`). Each folder’s `workspace.json` names its project.

## Before you delete it

Keep folders for projects whose AI chat history you may want to look back at.
