## What is it?

Bun stores every package it downloads in `~/.bun/install/cache`, shared by all projects, and on macOS copies files into each `node_modules` as APFS clones by default. The cache grows with each new package version you install.

## What happens if you delete it?

Bun downloads packages again the next time `bun install` needs them. Existing `node_modules` folders keep working.

## How to remove it properly

Run `bun pm cache rm` in Terminal, Bun’s own command for emptying the global cache (permanent), or move `~/.bun/install/cache` to the Trash. Only remove the `cache` folder: `~/.bun/bin` contains Bun itself.
