## What is it?

Safari’s cache of web content: images, scripts and pages from sites you visit, in `~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari`.

## What happens if you delete it?

Rebuilt as you browse. History, bookmarks, passwords and website logins are stored elsewhere.

## How to remove it properly

In Safari › Settings › Advanced, turn on “Show features for web developers”, then choose Develop › Empty Caches. Alternatively quit Safari and move the folder to the Trash.

## Before you delete it

Safari › Clear History also deletes your history and website data, so use Empty Caches if you only want to free space.
