## What is it?

Google’s Gemini CLI keeps per-project working data in `~/.gemini/tmp`, one folder per project: saved chats, checkpoints used to undo file changes, and logs. These folders grow with long sessions.

## What happens if you delete it?

No. Deleted chats and checkpoints cannot be resumed or restored. Your settings in `~/.gemini/settings.json` and your project files are not affected.

## How to remove it properly

Quit Gemini CLI, then move the project folders you no longer need to the Trash in Finder (Go › Go to Folder… `~/.gemini/tmp`).

## Before you delete it

Checkpoints let you roll back changes Gemini made; keep them for projects you are actively working on.
