## What is it?

A database that indexes the conformed audio and peak files kept in Media Cache Files, so Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder know which cached file belongs to which piece of media. It is usually much smaller than the files it tracks.

## What happens if you delete it?

Rebuilt automatically when an Adobe app next imports or opens media. Clear it together with Media Cache Files so the two stay consistent.

## How to remove it properly

Use the Media Cache settings in Premiere Pro, or Clean Database & Cache in After Effects › Settings › Media & Disk Cache. Or quit every Adobe app and move `~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Media Cache` to the Trash.
